Very very good article.
I always knew that dirty international politics, and hidden satanic intentions of western world. But I never believed that they will demonsrate it to the world as they are doing rightnow on SL issue. Whats going on. Even if I were a tamil, I would say this is bloody simple that LTTE is a terrorist ruthless killer organization. So why on earth western countries trying to stop the war which is approved by majority citizens of SL. Now i realise it is very obvious that western countries are the hidden satans of this plannet, they could sell their own mother to satisfy their cheap desires. I wish I dont want to be born in this planet in my next life, this world is so corrupted, inhumane, unfaiir and shows the signs of ‘return of satan’

Following on from gwfernando’s comment,a likely reason for HRW’s anti-Sri Lankan attitude is the following. Just as the case with numrous other organisations (e.g. BBC, United Nations, Amnesity International) there is likely to be several LTTE activists/supporters within HRW, or at least SPOUSES oF LTTE activists/supporters. The only other explanation is that some of them are actually on the LTTE payroll.

The absolute illogic of the position that the world community, and HRW in particular have been taking on the Sri Lanka/LTTE issue is mind boggling.
We have Sri Lanka, a democratic nation (in fact the oldest of the democracies in the region), held strangulated by the LTTE, a separatist group that resorts to suicide bombing, child recruitment, untold violence to its own community in order to keep its fascist control, holding the nation hostage to its intransigent demands, and where do the sympathies of the International Community and HRW lie???
Ans. With the LTTE, whom they are trying their darndest to rescue from being totally routed..indeed a triumph of the Devil’s Logic!

What SHOULD be done is that the World community should stand behind the Govt. of Sri Lanka and with one voice should call for the release of the civilians held as a “human shield”, or else… Instead, there is this namby pamby appeasement of the LTTE and a permissiveness of the LTTE’s supporting cohorts in the Diaspora that is shameful for its open display of support for a group designated a Foreign Terrorist Organization, the meaning of which seems not to register with the Law Enforcement authorities in these countries.

This is nothing short of sheer hypocrisy, for NO WESTERN GOVT. will tolerate any other group listed as an FTO to do this. So why the favoritism for the LTTE??
Nor has the West afforded at any time during their past and present wars, the kind of consideration that the SriLankan military has been given the Tamil “civilians”.
And HRW plays along, making it a double triumph for the Devil’s Logic.

Excellent! Excellent!

The voice of the moderates have been drowned by those who are giving the LTTE more publicity and in the process more clout. We are an independent nation. Humanrights apply to all people in Sri Lanka. Where are these people when suicide bombs kill innocent civilians. We all care about the Human Shields. Have you seen what the forces are doing for those saved. The LTTE has a louder voice than the voice of the Civilians who have the real story to tell. The Diaspora in Canada, UK and everywhere else are more concerned about creating a fear psychosis to justify their refugee and asylum status that came about mainly for employment and other LTTE sponsored reasons.

Hush and let Sri Lanka deal with the issue because the International media sees only one side. The Sinhalese majority is also living under dire straits not knowing when the LTTE attacks with suicide bombs. When a 48 hour ceasefire by the Govt. received a reply by the LTTE in the form of a Village massacre, where have HRW been.

Preemptive strikes killed hundreds of thousand. Sri Lanka shows compassion in trying to save Civilians. Have you seen the video of the 10 year old boy who tried to run to the Govt. security area and what the LTTE did to him? They cut both his legs before his parents eyes and the eyes of all other civilians to teach them their fate if they try to flee. Isnt this inhuman behavior against even one person a violation of Human Rights?

Hope the people at HRW are at least able to read this article carefully and rectify their bogus claims, although counting and differentiation seem to be really tough for this group; maybe they cannot separate fact from fiction or maybe they simply do not do not want to do so for some reason! HRW has lost any credibility they had with me and millions of others!
